Joe is this haiku about snow, stone, or some waterfall? What haiku moment are you pointing to? This feels like three disconnected descriptions.

    My attempt –

    Snow covers the ground,
    fountain stones peppered with ice.
    Welcome spring surprise.

Thank you Will for your questions and beautiful haiku. In the moment the photograph was taken it was not about the snow, stone, or waterfall being disconnected, but the resounding silence of the moment as each plays its part. Here is another haiku that with your input is my attempt to simplify the moment:

      snow through bare branches
      settles down on fountain stone
      footsteps come and go
